2011 National Training Awards
Footprints are delighted to announce that they were shortlisted for a National Training Award this year and as a finalist in the Small employer category attended a prestigious ceremony held in Parliament Buildings on 5th September.
The ceremony, hosted by presenter Claire McCollum, honoured four regional winners, who will go on to represent Northern Ireland at the National Training Awards Winners of the Year ceremony in London on 5 October 2011.
The National Training Awards, organised by the Department for Employment and Learning, recognises and rewards excellence in training. The Awards celebrate and showcase entrants that can demonstrate organisational benefits gained by directly linking the training needs of their people to the business needs of their organisation. The rigorous judging process involved in selecting the winners each year, which results in winners receiving recognition on a UK scale, sets these awards apart from all others.
Unfortunately we did not win but nonetheless as a NI finalist we know that our training is something to be proud of. It is important to us that our staff have the opportunity to develop and progress internally. As an ‘Investors in People’ accredited organisation training is a part of our culture and participating in the Awards has provided us with an opportunity to build on this and demonstrate our commitment to developing skills and raising workplace learning.
The four regional winners for 2011 from Northern Ireland were:
- Small employer category: Advice NI.
- Medium employer category: Action Cancer.
- Large employer category: Schrader Electronics.
- Macro employer category: Praxis Care.
